Winterfest is a Family Council event held every year.
Join us for a school wide celebration of all things winter! Think sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating, ice bowling, outdoor nature crafts, a cardboard cruise sled race and more. These activities are weather dependent. All are encouraged to dress warmly as many of the activities are held outside.
When you need to warm up, head inside to enjoy a bowl of chili, a cup of hot chocolate, something from the bake sale, a round at the cake walk, or have your face painted. There is also a free raffle with wonderful prizes donated by Woodland families and the community. New or gently used item for the raffle such as books, toys, sports equipment, a dozen farm fresh eggs, or even a gift certificate for a local service or item are greatly appreciated.
This event is not possible without parent volunteers
Winterfest Communal Chili Pot
The annual Woodland Winterfest communal chili pot is always a hit! Each family is asked to bring in a pot of their own chili, either vegetarian or meat. These are combined into two pots for all to enjoy. It may sound different, but this has resulted in some of the most amazing chilies.
Show Off Your Baking Skills for the Cake Walk
Each year, one Village handles the cake walk. This activity is a favorite for many! Show off your baking skills or simply pick up a cake at the local grocery store. Parents are also needed to help run the cake walk.
Each year one Village handles the bake sale. Please remember to bring your sweets individually wrapped and consider staffing the bake sale table for a 30-minute shift.
